Moto M Android 7.0/7.1.1 update status and release date revealed

Motorola has recently divulged its plans to rollout Android 7.1.1 update to a spate of devices including Moto G4 Play, Moto Z Play, Moto X Pure and Moto X Play, while the Moto M is the only all-metal smartphone that is expected to join the Nougat party. The Moto M is available for purchase in two variants: 32GB with 3GB of RAM and 64GB with 4GB of RAM.

Motorola fans in India can grab the Moto M via Flipkart, wherein the 32GB model is priced at Rs. 15,999 while the 64GB model costs Rs. 17,999. Both the models feature 5.5in 1080p display and powered by a quad-core MediaTek Helio P15 processor.

Other noteworthy features of Moto M include 16MP rear camera powered by phase detection auto-focus, 8MP front camera, a circular fingerprint sensor, water and dust resistant capability, and a 3,050mAh battery.

The Moto M runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, while its Nougat upgrade is expected to arrive in the first half of 2017 along with a handful of other newly launched smartphones. It is further speculated that the handset might skip Android 7.0 and get the latest Android 7.1.1 update alongside Moto X Play, which was recently spotted running Android 7.1.1 on GFXbench.
