Owners of unlocked HTC One M9 handsets are in for some great news as the company has just started rolling out the latest Android 7.0 Nougat over-the-air (OTA) update in the US. Those who have purchased their One M9 through a mobile carrier company like Sprint and T-Mobile will have to wait a bit longer for the Nougat upgrade.

Both Mo Versi (the VP of Product Management at HTC) and HTC USA have confirmed the rollout of Nougat update for the unlocked version of HTC One M9 via Twitter. According to the official tweet, the new Nougat update is expected to start rolling out from 6 December via OTA on the unlocked handsets.
The carrier variants in the US are expected to receive the Nougat update early next year, according to the official Twitter announcement. However, there is still no word on the release of Nougat update for HTC One M9 across the globe.
