"Love is the absence of judgement." This Dalai Lama saying is very true for 17-year-old Callum Firks who decided to marry his childhood sweetheart after learning that she has only a few more days to live.
Amber Snailham, who is also seventeen, who was diagnosed with diaphragm cancer at the age of 13 lived the best of her life on 25 November when her boyfriend married her at St Peter's Church in Bishopsworth in Bristol, England. Moreover, people financially helped her friend and family to make her big day memorable. More than £6,000 was raised to make Amber's dream come true.
Amber looked stunning as she arrived at the church dressed in a beautiful white gown holding a bouquet of roses. The young couple got married at the traditional church ceremony and the celebration will be followed by a reception at Arnos Manor Hotel.
Callum was recently told by the doctors that Amber's cancer has spread to her brain and she has a few more days to live. Instantly, Callum proposed to his girlfriend knowing that getting married was on top of her bucket list.
Daily Mail reported Callum's mom, Vicky Bishop saying, "I can't wait for the wedding day. I really can't wait. I just wish them all the best... Under the circumstances it is sad, it's really sad. Amber has been through a lot, poor girl. But Callum has been there and stood by her. I'm really proud of him. I'm a single parent and I brought him up on my own."
The couple met when they were studying together at Bedminster Down School and were best friends and they started dating from the last year.
