Rockstar Games has finally confirmed the release of new Cunning Stunts DLC for GTA Online, in its recent post on the Newswire. The mention of the new Stunts update appears right at the end of the post pertaining to the official release of Finance and Felony DLC.
It is still unclear if Rockstar wants to retain the highly-speculated title as 'Cunning Stunts' DLC for the forthcoming update or if it would make some cosmetic changes like it did with the Finance and Felony DLC.
As we all know that the Finance and Felony DLC was rechristened as 'Further Adventures in Finance and Felony DLC', it is likely that Rockstar could once again modify the DLC's name a bit, before releasing it to the public.
One may recall that Rockstar had released the Ill-Gotten Gains DLC (Part 1) in June followed by the second installment in July. If the previous year's DLC release pattern is any indication then we could expect the Cunning Stunts update to be released sometime in the first half of July as Rockstar has just rolled out the Finance and Felony DLC.
Moving on to the three new supercars found in hidden DLC game files that were showcased in Ross' earlier video, we may recall them as the Grotti X80 Proto, Pfister 811 and the Dewbauchee Seven-70.
As Ross explains, he spoke to several veteran YouTubers including Yan to ascertain why the three new supercars were found in GTA 5 story mode following the release of Further Adventures in Finance and Felony update for GTA Online.
The GTA community has been speculating that the three new supercars would be released in the upcoming weekly updates along the lines of Lowriders update in GTA Online. In other words, it means we could see one brand new supercar being released every week for three consecutive updates in weekly phased manner.
As the three new supercars are currently disabled in GTA Online, it is almost certain that Rockstar has saved them for future DLC release or the Cunning Stunts update.
Meanwhile, a new Adversary mode called Powerplay has been unearthed in one of the DLC game files, besides an official logo for the same being found on Rockstar's developer site. The logo itself shows a lightning bolt symbol engraved into the letter 'O' as shown in the screenshot (below).
In addition, the new Adversary mode will feature some special abilities (see the video for icons) including Swap, Random, Invisibility, Slowdown time, Testosterone and a couple of others (probably a wolf and a weed).
Veterans of the GTA community have reportedly uncovered some special sound effects for the Powerplay Adversary Mode wherein one can slow down time and a bunch of item pickups to unlock other special abilities.
If you are still sceptical, just check out the eerie audio track encoded into Ross' gameplay video below:
Although the Powerplay Adversary mode sounds very futuristic, there is still no clue about its likely release date in GTA Online. Given the Adversary mode's gameplay theme, it is very likely to be featured as part of the Cunning Stunts update.
Furthermore, prolific GTA tipster Funmw2 has hinted that the Powerplay Adversary Mode will be part of the Cunning Stunts update with two additional Adversary modes already in the works for future DLC releases.
Funmw2 has also confirmed that the two rumoured Adversary modes cannot be loaded into the game with the existing update, although their data has been found within the GTA 5 game files. This is because some hash files pertaining to these Adversary modes have been missing in the current DLC files.
It must be noted that Rockstar has also added some critical fixes for the Creator tool across all the three gaming platforms (PC, PS4 and Xbox One) with the Patch 1.34 that came out with the Finance and Felony DLC. With so many changes in the content creator, it could actually indicate the release of Cunning Stunts update is just around the corner.
