While Samsung Electronics Co Ltd may have rolled out the official Android 7.0 Nougat on Galaxy S7 Edge phones, a custom ROM has been made available for the device. Decent UltraLite is based on Android 7.0 Nougat but offers more functionalities and features than the official firmware.
As seen on its changelog, Decent UltraLite renders Galaxy S7 Edge debloated, smooth and battery-friendly. It also features a couple of tweaks and features like Per App Lock, Galaxy S8 style power menu and fully functional Private Mode among others.
Requirements
Before installing this custom ROM, please take note of the following reminders. First, back up all of your phone's valuable data as the process will require you to clean install or remove everything from your phone. Second, turn on USB debugging through Settings > Development Options > USB debugging.
Third, Galaxy S7 Edge should be rooted, unlocked and installed with a recovery tool like ClockworkMod or TWRP. Fourth, charge your phone to at least 60 per cent. Fifth, this guide is intended for Galaxy S7 Edge; this may cause damage to an incompatible device.
