On Apple's announcement of the iOS 11 in June, the iPhone maker did not particularly mention that the software update will bring a new broadcast. Reports suggest that Apple is set to roll out this new feature that can broadcast the screen and everything that is on it.

As seen in iOS 11 beta version, a broadcast feature has been discovered by CNBC. According to the publication, the feature can record the screen and air the content worldwide. This is primarily helpful for iPhone and iPad users who want to share their content to a wider audience. It remains uncertain if Apple is planning for the feature to be used in live broadcasts so audiences can view it real time.

YouTube, Facebook, and Amazon-owned Twitch currently have this feature, making it popular among gamers and content providers to share their live screens with their audiences. CNBC reported that Apple might be implementing a similar mechanism for the new iOS feature.

At this time, the beta version of iOS 11 shows a screen record toggle in Settings. By long pressing it from the Control Centre, recording officially begins. However, it is not currently functional.

Apart from the new broadcast feature, Apple is slated to bring a host of new features and tweaks once it rolls out iOS 11 in September. These include more functional Live Photos, revamped App Store, cleaner Messages app, smarter Keyboard, and so much more.

Live photos will soon be convertible to GIFs. Aside from that, users are given the option to choose which frame of the Live Photo is the primary photo. Apple is also making a way for users to take advantage of the device's memory space through compression formats to convert photos and videos in smaller sizes. The App Store makeover will be noticeable as it looks cleaner and more simplified. A few additional tabs will also be featured.
