Manchester United legend Roy Keane has taken a fresh swipe at Liverpool, declaring that Jurgen Klopp's side are "drifting nowhere".
The Reds made it back-to-back 3-0 home wins by seeing off Slovenian side Maribor in the Champions League, four days after a similar success over Huddersfield in the Premier League. Mohamed Salah, Emre Can and Daniel Sturridge all found the net in the second half as Klopp's men took another step towards the last 16 of the European competition.
According to the Mirror, Keane reckons Liverpool are so dull he would not watch them if they played in his garden. And despite their victory, he is adamant Jurgen Klopp's side will not be filling any trophy cabinets.
Liverpool need one win from their last two group games to reach the knockout stages.
But Republic of Ireland assistant manager Keane remains far from impressed by the Merseysiders, and was typically forthright on their chances for the remainder of the season.
"It's hard to figure out Liverpool at the moment," said Keane, speaking on ITV . "It's hard to get excited about them. To me, they are going nowhere fast. They're neat and tidy, but defensively... come the end of the season when the prizes are being given out, Liverpool will be nowhere near them."
Liverpool currently sit sixth in the Premier League and head to West Ham this weekend, but they are set to be without Philippe Coutinho and Gini Wijnaldum. Klopp's side are already 12 points shy of leaders Manchester City after a stuttering run of form.
The Reds face struggling West Ham on Saturday, a perfect opportunity to net three points before the international break.
As per the Sun, after the game, Klopp said: "Patience is a very important thing in football.
"If you have a perfect start it always make it easier, but if you don't carry on in a good way then the problems come back immediately. It's about patience, but it's also about doing the right things with the perfect timing. It's easy to lose patience in a game like this.
"The first half looked a little like this, but the second we were there and decided the game pretty early," Klopp said.
