Overview

England will be looking for a win over Scotland when these two nations face each other in the English capital. The last time these two sides met it was a 3-1 win for the Three Lions, with Manchester United star Wayne Rooney scoring a brace in the international friendly fixture.

The hosts have appointed Gareth Southgate as their manager following Sam Allardyce's resignation after the latter was exposed during a newspaper sting. Southgate will be in charge for his third game and will have one more game against Spain.

In the first two matches managed by the inter boss, England registered victories over Slovakia and Malta. They scored three goals and kept a clean sheet in both the fixtures. Southgate will be keen on continuing that run on Friday.

The clash between these two sides are among the oldest rivalries in football today, with the first match between England and Scotland played at Hamilton Crescent in Glasgow in 1872. The English side will be keen to get better of their neighbours in front of their home fans on Friday.

Scotland are not enjoying a good run as they have managed only one win in the last five matches played in all competitions. They will be looking to bounce back when they take on England on Friday evening.
