Overview

Thailand take on Singapore in their second Group A game of the 2016 AFF Suzuki Cup in Bulacan on 22 November.

The War Elephants started their campaign on a high after beating Indonesia 4-2 in their opening encounter on Saturday. Striker Teerasil Dangda came up with a hat-trick to help his team secure three points.

Dandga will be the one to watch out for in Tuesday's game as well as he has scored five goals in his last two games, including the two scored in the World Cup Qualifiers against Australia on 15 November.

Playmaker Chanathip Songkrasin and Charyl Chappuis, who finished as the highest scorer in the last edition, have it in them to hurt Singapore's chances of making it to the last-four stages.

However, coach Kiatisuk Senamuang would want to rest some of his key stars for the Philippines game after a busy week which could have contributed to player fatigue.

On the other hand, Singapore, who snatched a crucial points against Philippines, by holding the Azkals to a goalless draw will once again be looking to park the bus and grab another point. Daniel Bennett-led backline came up with a commendable effort even after the Lions were reduced to 10 men in the first half on Saturday.

With Baihakki Khaizan expected to be back for V Sundramoorthy's side, they will have to raise their game to hold off the only team from the Southeast Asian region still in contention for 2018 Russia World Cup spot.

Custodian Hassan Sunny's Thai Premier League experience will come in handy against the rampant Thai frontline.

Tuesday's game will also witness an interesting battle between Senamuang and Sundram, who have played against each other during the 1990s.

The 51-year-old Lions' coach, while conceding that his wards will have a difficult outing, said they would try and snatch points from the game.
