Italian firefighters rescued a fawn after it had become stuck in a drainpipe. The exhausted animal was given water to help it perk up. A firefighter had to be lowered down into the drain to rescue the fawn. It was then taken to a vet for treatment. Jul 9, 2017

A British Transport Police officer received a surprise proposal during Londons Pride Parade on July 8. The officer was shocked when her girlfriend pulled out a ring during the festivities. Venezuelas best-known jailed opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez has been granted house arrest after three years in prison. The 46-year-old appeared over joyous, waving the Venezuelan flag at his home. Crowds of supporters gathered outside the walled-in complex to cheer him on. Serving a 14-year sentence, Lopez would make a popular opposition presidential candidate. Iraqi forces free children trapped under rubble in Mosuls Old City

Iraqi forces rescued civilians, mostly children, from destroyed houses in Mosuls Old City. More than 20 civilians were pulled from the rubble of houses destroyed by fleeing ISIS militants. Footage of the Iraqi Federal Police shows officers giving water to rescued children. ISIS fighters vowed to fight to the death in the contested city. Police water cannon used to tackle G20 protests for third night in Hamburg

Anti-G20 protests across Hamburg continued for the third night in a row. Protests on Saturday were mostly peaceful after two nights of violent clashes which saw radicals torching cars and looting shops. Police used water cannons to disperse remaining protesters who began throwing bottles and rocks. More than 200 police officers were injured during three days of clashes. Thousands evacuated after British Columbia wildfires spread

Wildfires in Canada forced thousands of people to be evacuated. More than 180 of the fires were burning across British Columbia on July 8. They are extending hundreds of miles through the interior of the province. Some evacuees took shelter at emergency facilities. No deaths or injuries were reported but many buildings were destroyed. Coastguard rescues man from Worcester Cathedral bell tower

A coastguard crew has rescued a man from the Worcester Cathedral Bell Tower. The 53-year-old man fell ill during a practice of a historical re-enactment group. Local rescuers called the coastguard because of the height of the tower. The internal stair case would have also been too narrow to transport the man on a stretcher. The crew transported the man to a field where he was picked up by an ambulance. Jul 9, 2017

Italy arrests Chechen man accused of fighting with Isis

Italian police arrested a Chechen man suspected of being an Isis militant. He is believed to have been involved in attacks in Grozny,  Chechnya, in 2014. The attacks on media offices and a school left 19 dead. The 38-year-old man is accused of crimes of international terrorism. At the San Fermin Festival in Pamplona thrill seekers get close and personal with bulls. Three men were injured on the first day of bull running at the week-long festival. One Instagram user had a lucky escape when a bull jumped over him in the last second. Another man showed off his acrobatic skills at the risk of being gored. Video shows arrest of man driving in wrong direction on motorway

A man in Warwickshire was arrested after driving in the wrong direction on the motorway. Tony Chapman, 62, was driving 70 miles per hour down the wrong lane of the M40. When he did not respond to police asking him to stop officers were forced to make tactical contact with his car. Police reported Chapman had no recollection of driving the vehicle. Jul 8, 2017
