A restaurant owner in Phuket has asked for help from Facebook users to help locate a "foreign-looking" thief, who was seen stealing a bag from a Singaporean couple on CCTV footage inside his shop.
On Wednesday, Tanaphat Nuansakul posted a 1min 43sec video clip on Facebook and said that the theft happened inside his Tu Kub Khao restaurant that is located on Phang Nga road in Tambon Talad Yai in Phuket's Mueang district at around 6.40 pm.
In the post, the owner urged that if anyone comes across a foreign-looking man wearing a light yellow T-shirt and shorts and carrying a black backpack should immediately alert police.
The video that was uploaded on the social media site showed a man coming into the restaurant and waiting for waiters to clear a table. The 'thief' placed his own bag on a table and when he saw a couple talking to a waiter as they were paying their bill, he grabbed their bag and his own and left the restaurant.
Thai Rath Online quoted Tanaphat as saying that the couple was Singaporean tourists. The owner helped the couple file a complaint with police at the Muang Phuket police station. They reported that they had lost cash, credit cards and their passports.
