A 24-year old man in Singapore was arrested on Wednesday, November 1, over a hilarious issue, for allegedly stealing milk powder from shop to shop.
The police in a news release on November 2, stated that since October 30, they have been receiving complaints of milk powder being stolen from various supermarkets.
These thefts primarily took place in Bishan and Toa Payoh area, with as many as 16 tins of milk powder being stolen from the supermarkets.
The culprit will apparently be taken to court on Friday, November 3, reports Channel NewsAsia. Moreover, if the suspect is found guilty, he might be charged a hefty fine and maybe even jailed up to seven years.
People being arrested over serious and weird issues in Singapore is not something uncommon. On November 2, a 42-year old was arrested for keeping exotic wild animals at his place which definitely counts as a serious offence. The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) found exotic wild animals such as bronzeback snakes, black scorpions, Wagler's pit vipers at the suspect's place.
Pretty recently, a Taiwanese man was arrested by Singapore Police Force for impersonating a police officer in order to scam people. Again, a 19-year old was arrested for selling cigarettes online, that too without any tobacco license. Singapore also arrested a woman for the first time for acts of radicalism under Internal Security Act.
