A body was found in the water beside Singapore's Sengkang Riverside Park on Friday, September 29, in the morning.
An eyewitness, Elsie Soh, told The Straits Times that her husband saw some police officers investigating on the same while he was passing by the area at 7:20 a.m.
The news website also reported that a tent, used to cover dead bodies, was placed across the canal from Sengkang Riverside Park, covering the cycling and jogging track near Sengkang Sports Centre. A police cordon was set up, covering about 300m.
A 34-year-old housewife, Joy Perez, who lives nearby, informed that she was asked to turn away from the cordoned area around 8 am and had to take a different route, digressing into the residential areas which are few 100 metres away. Other joggers also faced a similar situation.
