The Ministry of Defence has declared that Singaporeans and permanent residents can start applying for tickets to this year's National Day Parade and the two previews from Friday May 13 to Sunday May 22.
The previews will be held on July 23 and 30, while the official parade will be on Aug 9, Singapore's National Day.
The successful applicants will be notified from June 2 to 8 via the contact number provided in the application. Successful applicants can collect their tickets from June 10 to 19, between 10am and 9pm daily at Kallang Wave Mall Atrium.
As its name implies, the Singapore National Day Parade takes place on August 9 in commemoration of Singapore's independence. It is usually held at the Padang, the National Stadium, various decentralized venues all over Singapore or The Float at Marina Bay.
Channel News Asia has reported that this year's festivities will mark the celebration returning to National Stadium after 10 years. This year the parade will have highlights such as the use of technology, aerial displays involving props and performers, and indoor fireworks.
The Ministry of Defence has also said that the applicants can choose to apply for two, four or six tickets to Preview 1 on Jul 23, Preview 2 on Jul 30 or on the actual parade day. Applicants should keep in mind that the lower the number of tickets they apply for, the higher the chances of obtaining them.
Each person should have a valid ticket and each ticket admits one person to the parade. Children and infants must also have a ticket. Each NRIC holder is limited to one application. The tickets will be allotted on a first come, first serve basis and that there will be no appeal to the results.
Interested people can submit their applications via SMS, at the official NDP website or at SAM and AXS stations. To apply via SMS, applicants may send a message to 8240 0050 with the format:
