Singapore police have arrested 45 women and 4 men on Friday for suspected involvement in vice-related activities in residential units and forested areas. The four-day multi-agency enforcement operation led by Jurong Police Division was supported by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and Singapore Customs.
According to reports, the women suspects, who are all from China, were allegedly operating an illegal brothel in a five-room Housing Board flat in the neighbourhood of Jurong West Street 74 and advertising their services online. Out of the 45 women, 37 women were from China and Thailand.
The authorities conducted the operation from Tuesday to Friday targeting residential, dormitory and public entertainment areas in western Singapore, including Bukit Batok, Chua Chu Kang, Jurong West and Woodlands.
Reports said that condoms and lubricants were found in the Jurong West flat during the raid, while lingerie were seen hanging in the cupboards.
Meanwhile, four other Singaporean men were arrested during the four-day-operation for their suspected involvement in various offences such as cheating and being members of unlawful societies.
