Overview

Russia come into this fixture after they sealed a point in their opening match of the tournament against England. Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier scored a brilliant free kick in the second half to give Roy Hodgson's men a crucial lead.

However, a late goal from Vasili Berezutski in the second minute of the stoppage time forced the Three Lions to settle for a draw, resulting in Russia to clinch a point from the match. They now get into a fixture where a victory could almost seal them a berth in the last 16 of the European championship.

Meanwhile, Slovakia enter this fixture after they started the tournament with a disappointing 2-1 defeat at the hands of Wales. Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale's brilliant free kick in the first quarter of the match gave the Dragons an early lead before Ondrej Duda canceled the lead in the 61st minute.

However, a goal from Hal Robson-Kanu saw Wales seal crucial three points in their first match of Euro 2016. A defeat against Russia could end Slovakia's campaign in France.
