Two separate explosions have been reported in Kabul on Tuesday morning. A blast was reported at the venue of an international peace conference in the Afghanistan capital. While, in a separate incident, a rocket reportedly landed at an Indian envoy's residence in the Green Zone in Kabul. No casualties have been reported so far.
According to the authorities, the rocket landed close to the Resolute Support compound in the vicinity of Shash Darak neighbourhood of the Afghan capital.
"A rocket landed in the India House compound at 10.25 am this morning. There were no casualties. Investigations are ongoing," Indian Ambassador in Afghanistan Manpreet Vohra told ANI.
"India has dealt with terror and will never be cowed down by it," he added.
The reported explosion took place at the time when Afghanistan was hosting Kabul Process summit days after the capital city was hit by terror attacks that resulted into political stability in the country. Representatives from at least 23 countries are present in Kabul for a meeting aimed at establishing peace in the country.
This latest blast comes after Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said that the death toll from a truck-bomb explosion in Kabul last week has reached more than 150 people.
Kabul has been on edge since the bombing in the highly fortified area last Wednesday, the deadliest in the city since 2001.
"Over 150 innocent Afghan sons and daughters were killed and more than 300 wounded were brought to hospitals with burns and amputations," Ghani had said. Previously, officials had put the number of dead at 90.
Meanwhile, Ghani has again invited the Taliban to peace talks, calling it their "last chance" to give up their 16-year insurgency and join the political process.
