PSG had a chance to finish on top of Group A, but their failure to beat Ludogorets in the last match of the group stages forced them to settle for the second place. The Ligue 1 winners finished in second place with 12 points, two points behind leaders Arsenal, who face Bayern Munich in the last 16.
Unai Emery has been successful in winning European competitions, having won the Europa League for three years in a row with Sevilla. Last summer, he replaced Laurent Blanc at PSG and will be targeting for a success in the Champions League.
