Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says his team's battling spirit in a 1-1 draw with Everton made Monday one of the proudest days of his life.
Although City were held by Everton at home, the coach was pleased with the effort his players showed to fight back with 10 men.

City played the entire second half with 10 men after Kyle Walker was controversially sent off shortly before the interval with Guardiola's side trailing to Wayne Rooney's 35th-minute strike.
But City rallied and fought back to take a point at the Etihad Stadium as Raheem Sterling smashed in a volley from close range eight minutes from time, leaving Guardiola immensely proud.
"We are here for the results but, in the end, you have to analyse the performance," he told Sky Sports.
"It is one of the proudest days of my life seeing how we have done, 10 against 11, against Everton. [They are] a Europa League team, with top quality players." Guardiola said, as per Goal.
"We have done everything," he added. "I don't know how many chances we created, I don't know how many chances they created, but it was 10 against 11 for 65 minutes.
Manchester City were reduced to 10 men just before half-time at the Etihad Stadium when referee Robert Madley showed Kyle Walker a second yellow card following a foul on Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Everton then saw themselves go down to 10 men in the 87th minute when Morgan Schneiderlin saw a second yellow for a foul on Sergio Aguero.
Guardiola, who was seen in animated conversation with fourth official Michael Oliver at the break, did not want to talk about Walker's red card -a decision that left him enraged, according to the Liverpool Echo.
"Next question, please. I am not going to talk about to referees,"he said, when asked for his view on the decision.
Guardiola praised Everton's defensive performance was but was frustrated that their dominance did not result in three points.
"I prefer to win the game but there is nothing to say, a see a lot of these games last season. It's sad because we want to start good at home but I don't have regrets, we create a lot of chances again, they had one on target and scored a goal, we create a lot."
