Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is looking at the option of bringing Andreas Pereira back from loan in the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old left Old Trafford and made a loan switch to Valencia on 1 September as he was in search of a regular playing time. It is the second season in a row that the Brazilian has been on loan in the La Liga as he spent the last season at Granada.
Mourinho was keen on keeping Pereira at Old Trafford as he wanted the midfielder to fight for his place at United. However, the South American made a loan switch to Valencia and the Portuguese tactician revealed it was the player's personal decision to take the option.
The Red Devils manager earlier confirmed that his side has the option to recall the player in January. According to Plaza Deportivo, Mourinho is planning to exercise that option in order to bolster his midfield.
Pereira has made only four starts, while making four appearances off the bench so far in the league this season. Marcelino García Toral has deployed Gonçalo Guedes and Carlos Soler ahead of the Brazilian the midfield position at Valencia.
Lack of regular playing time has made United unhappy and are looking at the option of bringing him back to the club. Should the Red Devils recall Pereira, his addition will be vital for the Old Trafford club as it gives more options for Mourinho
United are currently with Paul Pogba, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini as the star trio are struggling with injuries. Had Pereira fought for a place, he would have had opportunities to play in the centre of the pitch.
