Manchester United have confirmed their goalkeepers Joel Castro Pereira and Dean Henderson completed loan moves on the deadline day of the summer transfer window.
While Pereira has moved out on a season-long loan to Portuguese Club Belenenses, Henderson will be plying his trade with League Two team Grimsby Town until January 2017.
The 20-year-old, who was part of Portugal's Rio Olympic squad, is making his move out for the second time from the English club after being part of League One side Rochdale in the previous term. Pereira's move to Belenenses was also the last move the Red Devils made on the deadline day.
"Manchester United goalkeeper Joel Castro Pereira has agreed a loan move to Belenenses in the Reds' final piece of business on transfer deadline day," a statement on Manchester United's official website read.
The Portuguese goalkeeper was on the bench when United clinched the Europa League Round of 32 win against FC Midtjylland in February 2016.
Meanwhile, Henderson will compete for a spot in the first-team with goalkeeper James McKeown at Grimsby. The 19-year-old, who joined United when he was 14, has been making steady progress and is touted to be one of the best future prospects for England.
"Grimsby Town Football Club are delighted to announce the loan signing of highly rated Manchester United and England under 20's goalkeeper, Dean Henderson on loan until January 2017 subject to EFL approval," a statement on the Mariners' official website read.
The Under20 England international played on loan at Stockport County last season before he was recalled for United FA Cup clash against Shrewsbury Town due to the unavailability of the then injured David de Gea.
Apart from showing eagerness to attract big names to Old Trafford, newly-appointed manager Jose Mourinho was also keen on letting some of his youth players get valuable first-team exposure. Other few big names who have been allowed to leave on loan include Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Andreas Pereira, Adnan Januzaj and Guillermo Varela.
