A 34-year-old man was arrested by Malaysian police for allegedly forcing his wife into offering sexual services to foreign workers since December 2016.
Rukun Tetangga staff caught his 23-year-old wife on Thursday while they were investigating "suspicious" activities at a house in Bandar Amanjaya, Sungai Petani. The woman was found along with a Bangladeshi man, who somehow managed to escape, in a room at around 9.30 pm.
Kuala Muda police chief Asst Comm Md Zukir Md Isa confirmed the report on the incident. "They raided the house while the woman was in the middle of entertaining the Bangladeshi man," he said told The Star Online.
Reports said her husband was waiting in a car outside the house with their seven-month-old girl to fetch her home "after work".
When asked about her work, the woman told the police that her husband became jobless in December last year and all these had been going on since then. She added that her husband took her to the house and forced her to have sex with the man whom he had earlier collected RM50 (S$16) from.
Isa also said that the husband has been remanded for four days to facilitate the investigations for exploiting a person for the purpose of prostitution.
