Liverpool have confirmed their winger Sergi Canos has left Anfield on a permanent transfer and completed a switch to Norwich City.
The 19-year-old joined the Reds academy from Barcelona in 2013 and after spending two years there, he left Liverpool and joined Brentford on a season-long loan. On his return to his parent club, Jurgen Klopp did not include him in his plans for the 2016/17 season, which saw him leave them.
IBTimes UK earlier reported that Canos will leave Liverpool for Norwich on a four-year deal on 13 July. The same news was confirmed by the Reds' official website. A statement on Liverpool's official website read, "Liverpool Football Club can confirm Sergi Canos has joined Norwich City on a permanent transfer."
"The 19-year-old departs for Carrow Road after three years with the Reds following a move from Barcelona in the summer of 2013.
"Canos spent last season on loan at Brentford, but returned to Merseyside in time to make his senior debut for Jürgen Klopp's side as a second-half substitute in the 1-1 draw at West Brom on the final day of the Premier League campaign in May. Everybody at Liverpool FC wishes Sergi all the best in his future career."
Norwich finished 19th in the Premier League last season and that saw them face relegation to the Championship. Canos has expressed his delight after he completed a move to the Carrow Road.
"From the beginning, Norwich showed very good interest and showed that they believe in me. I'm very excited to be here. Carrow Road impressed me, I've seen videos of it and it looks an amazing atmosphere and I can't wait to play there," Canos told Norwich's official website.
