Liverpool summer signing Sadio Mane says he is delighted to be at Anfield and remains hopeful that the Reds can be successful in the 2016/17 season if they manage to work as a unit.
The Senegalese international moved to the Merseyside club from Premier League side, Southampton. He did not waste his time to open his account for his new club as he was on the scoresheet during Jurgen Klopp's side's 4-3 win over Arsenal.
Klopp will be delighted to start t016/17 campaign on a brighter note, especially with a victory over the north London side in their own backyard at the Emirates Stadium. Mane admitted that he has settled in well at Anfield and is eagerly waiting to contribute to the club's success going forward.
"I'm very happy to be here. We're trying to work on the pitch and in training by listening to the coach," Mane told Liverpool's official website.
"I'm very pleased because everything is going well. There's a very good team spirit and the coach is trying to help us give our best. I think this is important. I'm close with everyone. I'm just trying to give what I can. I'm impressed by them because we have a great team with big quality.
"Now we have to do it as a team and I think [if we do that] everything is going to go well for us and we'll be successful."
Meanwhile, Mane's arrival means that there will be stiff competition for a place in the starting lineup. The former Saints star is aware of the situation and believes that the situation is a positive sign at Liverpool.
"We have great quality in the team and this is good for us. It's normal that if you have very good players in the team then it's good for everybody," he explained.
"With the competition, it's normal, you have to do it, and we try to help each other - it's normal and makes the team stronger. Everybody enjoys it, everybody's happy with it. I think everything will be good for us."
