After visiting Jakarta on Wednesday, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has extended his extravagant official visit for five days to spend some time in Bali this weekend. King Salman, who arrived with 1,500 members of his entourage, is set to spend five days in Bali, from March 4 to 9. The King's entourage will accompany him during his month-long visit to several Asian countries.
According to kompas.com report, the Saudi Arabian royal family has reportedly arrived with a private car and private stairways along with the King's private sofa and 80-inch television, which is supposed to be placed in the hotel room where he is set to stay.
"The private stairways and the car have arrived in Bali. I was also informed that King Salman brought his Rp 17 billion [S$1.8 million] private sofa and his 80-inch television," I Ketut Ardana, the chairman of Association of the Indonesia Tours and Travel Agencies, told kompas.com on Wednesday.
Saudi Arabia has rented 45 trucks to transport King Salman's private luggage, including other logistics, during their stay in Bali.
Budi Harjanto, the Ngurah Rai Customs and Excise chief, also confirmed that the king's private luggage and other logistics, including the sofa and some food, arrived on the island on 18 February. King Salman is the first Saudi Arabian king to visit Indonesia after King Faisal's visit 47 years ago.
Indonesia is King Salman's second destination in Asia and his official visit in the capital will run from March 1 to 3. He is also scheduled to travel to Japan, China, the Maldives and Jordan.
