A self-proclaimed shaman, Suprianto was killed by savage reptiles in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan in Indonesia on Saturday when he went to trace the body of a boy, who went missing on Sept. 15 in Muara Jawa estuary.
Shamans supposedly have access to the world of good and evil spirits, to the world of demons and darkness. This Indonesian shaman proclaimed possessing powers that help him to control crocodiles. Following local reports, Suprianto went looking for the body of the boy.
Kutai Kartanegara police chief Fadillah Zulkarnaen recovered two bodies, one of them being Suprianto's which was found floating at 9:40 pm. Surprisingly his body was intact and unharmed along with the body of the boy Arjuna who went missing.
"I think he was dragged by a croc under the water and then ran out of oxygen," Zulkarnen told The Star. "From the pictures I've seen, his body is still intact, his arms and legs are still there" he further added.
The disturbing video footage clearly shows how the shaman was dragged under while he was singing and swimming casually in the estuary.
Crocodile attacks are seemingly common in Indonesia, as waters there are infested with these fierce reptiles. A similar incident took place in July this year, when a man while bathing in a river was dragged beneath the water in Berau, Indonesia. Villagers took the aid of a local black magic wizard, specializing in "crocodile witchcraft" to bring the victim back to life.
The predator was seen floating with the naked body of the man in its jaws.
