Alphabet Inc's Google will launch its second generation of Pixel smartphones in Singapore, the first Southeast Asian market to have the device.

Pixel 2 comes in two sizes, firstly the 5-inch Pixel 2 with a crystal-clear cinematic OLED display and the 6-inch Pixel 2 XL that has a razor-sharp pOLED 18:9 display.

In a separate press release on Wednesday, Singtel said it will bring in the Pixel 2 XL device as Google's exclusive telco partner, and the device will be launched on November 15.

Those keen can register their interest for the smartphone at singtel.com/googlepixel from 9am on October 5 Singapore time, it added.

Google's Pixel 2 boasts of a higher quality, all-day battery life, and an Assistant that understands and helps get more work done, it said in a statement on its website on Wednesday.

The Pixel 2 camera is powered by computational photography and machine learning capabilities. It has Google Lens—a new set of visual smarts that help look up landmarks, books, music albums, movies and artwork by clicking on the Lens icon in Google Photos.

The Google Assistant makes many tasks—from sending a text or making a call, to finding an answer—faster, easier and hands-free.

Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are available starting at $649 in the U.S. Google will be bringing Pixel 2 XL to Italy, Singapore and Spain later this year, it said.

The Pixel 2 XL also comes with Google Lens, a new set of visual smarts that helps you learn about the world around you and get things done, and a localised version of Google Assistant, which will be launched later this year for use with Singaporean English.
