Conspiracy theorists all around the world have been claiming the presence of extra-terrestrial life for years, and to substantiate their facts, they point out UFO sightings across various corners of the world. Now, a former NASA engineer has openly come forward and has given an explanation to the world's most baffling UFO cases and conspiracy theories.

The peculiar nature of human brain

James Oberg, the former NASA Mission Control staffer revealed that UFO sightings across the world are the result of our senses. According to Oberg, human senses are developed to use on Earth, and sometimes, it compensates for something they do not understand which results in the feeling of seeing UFOs and other extra-terrestrial space saucers.

Oberg added that human brain is focused on interpreting relatively slow-moving objects, and when things change, our brain gets confused.

"Our sensory system is functioning absolutely perfectly for Earth conditions. But we're still a local civilization. Moving beyond our neighborhood has been visually confusing," Oberg told Giamio.

Oberg also made it clear that the unexplained lights which are usually seen on near-space vehicles are just tiny bits of debris known as 'space dandruff' traveling at incredible speed.

Explaining the theory more, Oberg cited the example of an incident where people misunderstood a US Navy missile as an alien UFO. Most of the people who witnessed the incident thought that it was the proof of alien life, despite the military explaining that it was of terrestrial origin.

The problem of watching more sci-fi flicks

Many conspiracy theorists have claimed that astronauts and scientists in NASA are well aware of UFO flybys, and they are forced to keep silent. Oberg debunked this claim and made it clear that these thoughts are the result of watching too many sci-fi movies. The former NASA official also added that people who put forwarding these theories do not have any idea about how space looks like.
