Minneapolis police officer shoots two Staffordshire Bull Terriers in owners backyard

A familys surveillance cameras have captured the moment a Minneapolis police officer shot and injured two dogs in their backyard. Jennifer LeMay posted the video on Facebook. It appears to show the police officer enter her backyard on July 8 and look around, before drawing his firearm and shooting two Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Both animals were taken to a vet, and are expected to survive. The Minneapolis Police Department is now investigating the incident. Jul 11, 2017

Shocking video shows woman pushed down stairs after fight with Airbnb host

The footage, taken on July 8 in Amsterdam, shows a woman falling down a flight of stairs after apparently being pushed during an argument with her AirBnb host. According to local reports, a 47-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the incident. Cyclists helmet cam captures shocking hit-and-run in Tennessee

Greg Goodman was biking with his friend, Tyler Noe, on a stretch of road in Franklin, Tennessee, on July 8, when a car smacked Noe and took off without stopping. Goodman wrote that he was taken to a hospital and was doing well. Italy arrests Chechen man accused of fighting with Isis

Italian police arrested a Chechen man suspected of being an Isis militant. He is believed to have been involved in attacks in Grozny,  Chechnya, in 2014. The attacks on media offices and a school left 19 dead. The 38-year-old man is accused of crimes of international terrorism. Man dies after crashing propane-loaded car into ex-girlfriends home

A 31-year-old man died after driving a car filled with propane into his ex-girlfriends home. A police bodycam video shows the car on fire as officers try to extinguish the flames. Floridas Fort Pierce Department said driver Carl Philbert was involved in a dispute at the address before returning with his car and crashing into the apartment building. The car was packed with four 20 lb propane gas containers. 13 adults and five children were displaced because of the incident but escaped unharmed. Jul 8, 2017

Failings in Jerseys child care system led to significant numbers suffering abuse

An inquiry into historic child abuse on the island of Jersey found a catalogue of failures in its care system spanning several decades, according to findings published in a report on Monday (July 3).The inquiry, led by Frances Oldham QC, heard 553 offences took place between 1947 and 2004. More than half of them are said to have happened at the former childrens care home, Haut de la Garenne. The report has recommended demolishing the building to eradicate its unhappy past. Jul 4, 2017

Brazilian drug lord who used plastic surgery to change looks arrested after 30 years on the run

A Brazilian drug lord has been arrested after three decades on the run. Luiz Carlos da Rocha  was one of South Americas biggest cocaine kingpins. He is said to have amassed a personal fortune of $100m (£77m). 150 police agents carried out 24 raids and seized $10m worth of the drug lords assets, including planes, properties and luxury cars. Multiple people have been shot at a night club in Little Rock, Arkansas, on 1 July.
