Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has revealed that he does not fancy staying in London for "very long."
The Spain international was a transfer target for Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho in the summer transfer window. However, the striker's former club, Real Madrid failed to agree a fee with the Red Devils and United ended up signing Romelu Lukaku instead from Everton.
Antonio Conte's failure to land the Belgium international saw him sign Morata from the Champions League winners. He replaced Brazil-born Spain international Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge as the former returned to Atletico Madrid.
Morata is leading the English champions' attack this season. Despite signing a contract with the west London club, the Spaniard publicly admitted that he is not planning for a long stay with the Blues.
"I'm fine. I live in downtown Chelsea. London fascinates me with its multi-ethnicity, the coexistence of cultures and religions, but I do not see myself living here for very long. Too much, too much stress, too many metropolises," Morata told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Morata was signed by Juventus in 2014 when Conte was in charge at the club. The same summer, the Italian manager left the job at the Turin club and was replaced by Massimiliano Allegri.
Under the former AC Milan manager, the 25-year-old enjoyed a good spell. As a part of the contract, Real had a buyback option. The 12-time European champions triggered that clause and re-signed him last summer.
Morata was the second choice striker at Real, behind Karim Benzema. The attacker stressed that he enjoyed life in Italy and expressed his frustration after the La Liga winners exercised the buyback option.
"Italy for a Spaniard is the best country to live. You have everything: beauty, history, art, cooking, fashion. I would never have left Italy and Juve," he explained.
"The disappointment [of leaving Juventus] was enormous, I found myself back to the starting point. They [Real Madrid] treated me like the guy I was before the two Italian seasons."
