After almost 100 years the corporate world has understood that women employees should be paid as equal as their male colleagues and November 10, 2017, is a day to recognize as 'Equal Pay Day' in United kingdom.
The Fawcett Society, the UK based organization which works for gender equality and women's rights has mentioned that same like 2016 this year also the world will celebrate the 'Equal Pay Day' on the same date.
According to The Guardian, the chief executive of the organization Sam Smethers said,"The pay gap is widest for older women as it grows over our working lives but we are now seeing a widening of the pay gap for younger women too, which suggests we are going backwards and that is extremely worrying."
On the other hand, UK's leader of the Women's Equality Party Sophie Walker described the importance of equal pay and said that the gender pay gap usually triggers sexual harassment, including scandals in the entertainment industry as well as in politics.
Well-known personalities like sports queen Serena Williams once had written a powerful easy on equal pay for black women, where she described the problems and issues related to the same.
However, people from all around the world showed their support for this year's Equal Pay Day via social media posts.
It’s embarrassing that we even have to go through #EqualPayDay every year to remind workplaces including the BBC to stop being shit and pay women and men equally. But we do have to remind them. It’s simple: same work, same pay. It’s important so please shout about it. https://t.co/w8RP6xooOl

Apparently its #EqualPayDay today, or to give it its full title "lets perpetuate a complete bullshit myth that has been debunked a thousand times day".

#EqualPayDay. For the women of today, and the generations to follow, it's time to end pay discrimination.
