A 68-year-old woman died in Singapore after being hit by a road sign that was said to be dislodged by a runaway bus.
The police said they were informed about the accident at 9.56 am on Friday. The accident involved a private bus and a pedestrian at the junction of Bukit Panjang Ring Road and Bukit Panjang Road.
The road sign hit Ong Lim, who was waiting for a taxi on the curb, on the face when the bus rolled down the slope and hit the sign board.
Lim Jia Zheng, her grandson, said in his Facebook post that Ong was left with a deep cut on her leg.
The police said she was taken to the National University Hospital. But later she succumbed to her injuries.
