A body of a 75-year-old man was found in the Kallang River on Sunday, October 1 evening, deemed an unnatural death triggering probe.
The Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team ( DART) found the body 5 meters from the banks of the river. The Singapore Civil Defence force (SCDF), responded to the case after a missing person was reported at Kallang River at about 5:30 pm.
The death had been pronounced by paramedics at the scene. The police further continue the investigation, as this was deemed an unnatural death.
The Kallang River is connected by the Lower Peirce Reservoir on one side to the coast at Nicoll Highway the other side, making it the longest river stretching over 10 km in Singapore.
The river flows into the open sea through the Marina Channel between Marina Centre and Marina East.
