A white van ploughed into the pedestrians in Barcelona, which has left two dead and one of them injured, reports The Sun. The authorities have informed people to avoid the Las Ramblas area as police rushed to the area.
Metro lines have also been shut, as pedestrians were seen rushing to take cover as per the testimony given by the local people. CNN reports claim the area has been sealed off as per the confirmation given the Catalan police.
One of the eyewitnesses, Daniela Goicoechea, was walking around Las Rambla with her three children. She confirmed it to the Independent to running towards shelter as there was chaos in the Spanish city.
"People started running but we didn't know what was happening. There was a lot of people running. Then policemen began chasing people. We were lost, we ran with three babies and hid in a cafe nearby," Goicoechea told the Independent.
