Arsenal have confirmed they have completed the signing of France international striker Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon on 5 July, Wednesday.
The 26-year-old has successfully completed his medical at the north London club and has signed a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee, claims the Gunners.
A statement on Arsenal's official website read, "Alexandre Lacazette has agreed to join us on a long-term contract, for an undisclosed fee. The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes."
Lacazette will travel with his new teammates to Australia for the Gunners' pre-season tour. He is set to make his home debut when Arsene Wenger's men return to the English capital for the Emirates Cup later this month.
Lyon have confirmed that they will receive €60m (£52.7m) from Arsenal and a further €7m (£6.1m) as add-ons. This will be the club-record deal for Arsenal, surpassing their earlier fee of £42.5m they paid Real Madrid in signing Mesut Ozil in 2013.
The French striker has scored 20 plus goals in the league in the last three seasons. In the 2016/17 campaign, Lacazette scored 28 goals and registered three assists in the league, taking his overall tally to 36 goals across all competitions.
Wenger has heaped full praise on his latest addition and is delighted with the striker's goal scoring abilities.
"We are very happy to have Alexandre join our group. He has shown over a number of years that he can score goals and that he is a very efficient finisher," Wenger told Arsenal's official website.
"As well, he has very interesting technical qualities and a strong character. So he is a guy who is a great addition for us, and someone who will help us challenge at the top level this season."
