Home United defender Juma'at Jantan wants a good team performance from the Protectors in the AFC Cup zonal semi-final second leg against Philippines' Global FC on Tuesday.
The S.League side are heading into the tie at the Jalan Besar Stadium on the back of securing a crucial 2-2 draw in the first leg in Manila earlier this month. Croatian forward Stipe Plazibat, who has set the season on fire with 20 goals across all competitions, scored a late equaliser to hand his team an edge on away goals.
Also, Home are high on confidence after crushing 2015 S.League champions Brunei DPMM 9-2 in their last league outing on Thursday. The Protectors were on the attack right from the word go as Faris Ramli netted four goals, adding to Plazibat's brace. Adam Swandi, Ui Young Song and Mohammad Kamal also got their names on the scoresheet at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
"I do not think we are the favourites but we are Home United and that is a responsibility we bear. We have to demonstrate who we are and we have to show it tomorrow [Tuesday]," Jantan said, as quoted by the club's official website.
"We know Global Cebu are a strong team. They have been doing really well in this competition so we know it is going to be a good match. We hope to concentrate, play well and get a good result.
"Aidil Sharin has given me the confidence to do that - actually not only me, but also the rest of the players. I just hope to be able to demonstrate and give some of that trust back to Aidil by playing a good match."
Global will be missing their influential centre-back Amani Aguinaldo, who scored their second goal in the first leg, due to suspension. However, they will welcome defender Wesley Dos Santos, who returns from suspension and the onus falls on the Brazilian centre-back to stop the likes of Plazibat and Ramli.
However, the Filipino side, having made a good start to the local league, with a 3-1 win over third-placed Kaya on Wednesday, will be backing themselves to beat the odds and snatch a final berth.
