BTN consumer banking director Handayani, during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday, said the bank provides subsidised mortgages and micro mortgages to the drivers where the mortgage is limited to Rp140 million with a downpayment of 1% and an imposed 5% annual interest rate for a 10-year tenor. "Drivers have the opportunity to purchase a 26- to 36-square meter house on plots of land measuring between 60 to 70 square meters under the scheme," Handayani said.
She added that the micro mortgage program has a credit limit of Rp100 million, ultimately for renovations and construction of new houses with a 5.7% interest rate imposed for 10 years.
BNI Syariah president director Abdullah Firman Wibowo said Gojek drivers has to pay Rp 20,000 to 30,000 daily where their balances will amount to Rp20 million.
The amount is the minimum required to register for the haj or umrah facility.
