The Ukraine Parliament will form a new coalition government on Tuesday 12 April, the President has told media persons.

"I expect that no later than next week, preferably on Tuesday, we will hear from the parliament the good news that a coalition has been created," the president Petro Poroshenko said.

"If it's not, then I don't rule out that that the Ukrainian people and I, as a president, will have to lock the deputies up as in a conclave and wait for the white – not the black – smoke to come out of the Verkhovna Rada; they must form a coalition," he added.

On 24 March the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko faction offered to nominate from the new coalition current speaker Volodymyr Groysman to become prime minister.

On Sunday, 10 April, Yatsenyuk announced his resignation from the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine.

"Those responsible MPs – I hope that there will be a majority of those in parliament – there should be more than 226 of them. They will ensure the creation of a coalition (it must be on Tuesday) and they will put forward a nomination for a prime minister's post," said the president.

In a latest development, the Prosecutor General's office late Sunday filed a notice of suspicion for ex-Deputy Prosecutor General Vitaly Kasko in a fraud case, according to Kyiv Post.

Kasko is suspected of illegally receiving two apartments. Last month, ex-Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, shortly before being dismissed, obtained a court order to seize Kasko's apartment as part of the case.

Kasko said that the prosecutors had opened five criminal cases against him. He argued that the cases were Shokin's revenge for Kasko's criticism of his boss.

Kasko resigned as a deputy prosecutor general in February, saying that Shokin had transformed the prosecutorial system into a corrupt "dead body" that "creates and tolerates total lawlessness," as well as making it "a tool of political intimidation and profiteering."
