Singapore police arrested three women on Friday for offering sexual services to their clients for S$100 to S$150, following a raid at massage parlours in Upper Paya Lebar, Sennett Estate and MacPherson. Reports said all the women are aged between 36 and 45 years.
In a press release, the police said condoms wrapped in aluminium foil and concealed in pill bottles were seized from the parlours. Police said an action is being taken against three massage establishments for offences under the Massage Establishments Act.
The officers checked a total of 15 massage parlours during a span of three days of police operations that began on Wednesday. Six women were arrested in Little India on that same day.
The authorities also conducted several checks in Bukit Batok on Wednesday and in Clementi on Thursday. However, no one was arrested from there.
According to the police, the operations are part of efforts to ensure that massage establishments adhere to the rules and conditions of their licences. "The police take a serious view against massage establishments that contravene the provisions under the Massage Establishments Act," it said.
