Ayad al-Jumaili, the man who is believed to be the deputy of Islamic State's leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, has been killed, Iraqi State TV cited Iraq's military intelligence and reported on Saturday.
The channel announced Jumaili's killing in an on-screen news flash. However, it did not reveal any further details about the killing.
Last week, the Pentagon confirmed that a senior Al-Qaeda leader, who was involved in multiple deadly attacks in Pakistan, was killed in a US drone strike in eastern Afghanistan.
The authorities said that three other companions of Yasin were also killed in the US drone strike. Mohammad Khurasani, the outfit's spokesperson described Yasin as a "close assistant" of the Pakistani Taliban. He added that the leader was also a "trainer of Mujahideen."
