Valencia confirmed they have parted ways with Gary Neville as the Spanish club's first team coach on Wednesday.
The Manchester United legend took charge of the club last December as the former England international defender replaced Salvador González Marco a.k.a Voro at Mestalla Stadium. However, Neville has been relieved from his duties after four months in charge at the club.
Pako Ayestarán, who joined Neville's backroom staff in February has been appointed as the La Liga side's manager until the end of the 2015/16 season.
"Valencia Football Club have today parted company with Gary Neville as Head Coach," a statement read on Valencia's official website.
"After careful consideration, the Club have decided to make a change with the best interests of the Valencia CF moving forward this season. We thank Gary for his work at Valencia and wish him the best in the future."
"The Club have, today, appointed Pako Ayestaran as Head Coach until the end of the season."
Under Neville's guidance, Valencia managed 10 wins in 28 matches played in all competitions. The Old Trafford legend, who took his first managerial job of his career was successful in guiding the club to only three league wins out of 16 matches.
Poor results forced the club to show Neville the exit door. After 30 matches, Valencia sit 14th in the league table with 34 points, six points ahead of 18th place Getafe. Ayestaran will have the task on his hand to help his side avoid relegation in the next eight matches.
