Tottenham Hotspur take on Stoke City in their Premier League fixture on Sunday at the White Hart Lane.

The Spurs will be looking to overcome the disappointment of exiting the Europa League after a 3-2 (on aggregate) loss to Belgian side Gent. Notably, Mauricio Pochettino's side, who conceded a goal on their trip to Gent last week, managed only a draw at their alternate home, Wembley on Thursday to end their continental campaign this season.

However, Tottenham will be heading into today's game high on confidence as they have remained unbeaten at home this season. A win against Stoke will see them equalling the club record for the longest winning streak at home in a season - eight.

With a jump to second spot on the table assured, Spurs will not want to let go off the opportunity to seize the advantage. However, their recent form is an area of concern as Pochettino's men have won only one of their last four games in all competitions, including losses to Liverpool and Gent.

Harry Kane's form though will give the manager a lot of confidence while Danny Rose and Erik Lamela continue to be on the sidelines. On the other hand, Stoke were beaten only once in their last five matches and they also clinched points against Manchester United and Everton.

The 10th-placed team though are facing pressure from Burnley and Watford, who are a point below them at 11th and 12th, respectively. Stoke have to punch above their weight if they are to stand a chance against the Spurs, especially after losing four of their last five games on the road but the return of Xherdan Shaqiri and Wilfried Bony from injury and illness should boost the team.
