At least three people died and 14 are severely injured after a huge fire engulfed a luxury hotel in southeastern China's Nanchang city on Saturday morning. Reports said several others are feared trapped.
Many horrifying video footages that were circulated on social media showed billows of thick smoke coming out of several floors of the HNA Platinum Mix Hotel. The hotel was surrounded by fire engines and ambulances.
The authorities said dozens of workers were caught up in the blaze and one man even jumped from the window.
According to latest media reports, the fire has been extinguished and the rescue officials are searching for people trapped in the building.
The fire was first reported from the second floor of the four-storey hotel building where construction work was taking place. It also connects to a 24-storey apartment. It's believed that an apartment block was also caught up in the fire that broke out at about 8 am local time.
