Overview

Egypt and Ghana are the two favourites to progress to the next stage of the 2017 African Cup of Nations. Mali and Uganda are set to be knocked out from the group stages, but they are likely to provide heavy competition.

The Pharaohs have won the tournament on seven occasions and Egypt are the most successful team in the African Cup of Nations. Héctor Cúper will be looking to guide his side to another success in this year's edition.

Mali coach Alain Giresse will be disappointed to have started the tournament against one of the favourites. However, avoiding a defeat on Tuesday can put them in a position to qualify for the last eight of the AFCON.
