Indian middle-order batsman Karun Nair became the only second player from the country after Virender Sehwag to score a triple century.
The 25-year-old right-handed batsman remained unbeaten on 303 (381 balls) as India declared on 757/7 in reply to England's first innings score of 477 on the fourth day of the final Test of the five-match series against the visitors in Chennai on 19 December.
It was also the highest score by India in the longest format of the game, as Virat Kohli's men went past the previous best of 726/9 (dec) against Sri Lanka in Mumbai in 2009.

After having sealed the ongoing series 3-0, skipper Kohli pushed the declaration even after getting a healthy lead on the penultimate day of the Test just to let Nair, who was only playing his third Test match, to get to the milestone mark.
