Overview
Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are place in Group F of the Champions League and the two teams have already progressed to the next stage of the European competition. However, the clash between the two sides will decide as to who will finish the group on top.
The reigning champions have 11 points after five games, two points behind group leaders Dortmund. The last time these two sides faced each other earlier in the Champions League saw the match ended ina 2-2 draw at Signal Iduna Park.
Dortmund can finish the group on top if they manage to avoid a defeat at the hands of the Spanish capital club on Wednesday. A draw or a win is sufficient for them to finish as the group leaders, which will then see them take on a runners-up in the next round.
Real are already without the services of their star player Gareth Bale as the Welshman is sidelined with an injury. The La Liga giants came from behind to settle for a 1-1 draw against Barcelona in the first El Clasico of the season last weekend.
