Manchester United struggling star Henrikh Mkhitaryan remains confident that he will be a success at Old Trafford after a tough start to a life in England.
The Armenian became the first player from his country to play in the Premier League when he left Borussia Dortmund and made a switch to Old Trafford. So far, the 27-year-old has made only one start in the league, which came during his side's 2-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City.
Mkhitaryan struggled against Pep Guardiola's side and since then has managed to feature only once, which came from the bench during the Europa League defeat at the hands of Fenerbahce.
Despite his struggled, the former Bundesliga star has vowed to "find the strength" to reach his goal of succeeding at United.
"It is true that I get little time on the field but I am not going to give in," Mkhitaryan explained, after he become a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF in his native Armenia.
"I went a long way to play in Manchester United so nothing will prevent me from achieving my dream," he continued. "I will not retreat, I will find the strength to reach my goal."
This comes after Jose Mourinho publicly criticised the Armenian international for his display against the Turkish outfit in the European competition. United manager urged Mkhitaryan to give more to his side while on the pitch.
"He has to do more. It's as simple as that. We have big expectations at this club, lots of players for these positions and he has to play better than Mata, Lingard, Martial – he has to play better than them. It's as simple as that," Mourinho told United's official website.
"Every manager wants to win matches, every manager in the world wants to play the players that he thinks can help the team more, and I'm no different."
