Overview
Pep Guardiola has suffered his first defeat since taking charge at Manchester City before the start of the season. It was his first loss in all competitions, which came during his side's league clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
An early own goal from Aleksandar Kolarov followed by another goal from Dele Alli in the first half was sufficient for the north London club to extend their unbeaten run. The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager will be looking to set things right when his side take on the Merseyside club this weekend.
Everton, on the other hand are without a win in the last three fixtures, which includes two defeats against Norwich City (in the EFL Cup) followed by a league defeat at the hands of AFC Bournemouth.
Ronald Koeman will be hoping his side can end their poor run when they take on the Premier League leaders on Saturday. The clash will also see City's summer signing John Stones for his former club for the first time since leaving Goodison Park.
