Manchester United legend Bryan Robson believes the senior players at Old Trafford deserves to be recognised as the Red Devils registered three wins and scored 11 goals in last three fixtures.
It all started when the 20-time English champions defeated Shrewsbury Town 3-0 in the fifth round of the FA Cup. Against FC Midtjylland, United hosted them in the second leg with a 2-1 deficit.
Louis van Gaal's side managed to progress to the last 16 of the Europa League with a 5-1 victory at Old Trafford, which made the aggregate score 6-3. The impressive run in the FA Cup and European competition was followed by a brilliant display in their 3-2 win over Arsenal in the Premier League.
Injuries forced the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager to field young striker Marcus Rashford as the main striker in the last two fixtures. The 18-year-old won the heart of United fans after scored a brace in both fixtures.
Robson was delighted to see young players shine for United, but admitted the senior players in the squad also deserves credit.
"The way the young players have come in and performed for the last couple of games is terrific for the club and terrific for the young lads but my feelings are that the experienced players deserve a lot of credit as well," Robson told United's official website.
"I just thought that, considering all the injuries we've got, all the experienced lads were excellent yesterday. David De Gea, Michael Carrick, Daley Blind, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Morgan Schneiderlin - they all put in good performances.
"I thought all of those lads had really good games, which created a good, steady centre of the field and a platform for the young boys to go and inject their energy and enthusiasm into the game. It shouldn't go amiss that the experienced lads did really well yesterday.
"We all love the kids to come through the ranks and do great. We're always looking for the next Giggsy and Scholesy and that's quite right because Manchester United has always been associated with young boys coming through and becoming outstanding players.
"But I just thought that the likes of Michael Carrick deserved a mention for their performances yesterday. Many of them are playing out of position as well and they did a terrific job for the team."
