An Austrian girl has sued her parents for allegedly posting her childhood pictures on social media. The 18-year-old claims they shared over 500 "embarrassing" photographs of her with their friends on Facebook.

The teenager's lawyer Michael Rami stated that her parents posted images of her having her nappy changed and being potty trained since 2009. She told The Local Austria newspaper: "They knew no shame and no limit - and didn't care whether it was a picture of me sitting on the toilet or lying naked in my cot - every stage was photographed and then made public."

The woman apparently asked her parents repeatedly to delete the images but was refused. Her father responded that he has the right to publish the images since he took the photos.

She said: "I'm tired of not being taken seriously by my parents."

This case is first of it's kind in Austria and will be heard in November. If she wins, her parents may have to pay compensation and cover legal costs.
